Ingredients
- Ghee - 1/4 cup
- Chicken - 1/2 kg
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Yogurt / Curd - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 2 large sliced thinly
- Green Chillies - 2 slit
- Curry leaves - 2 sprig
- Tomatoes - 2 chopped finely
- Tamarind pulp - 1 tblsp
- Water as needed
- Salt to taste
- Garam Masala Powder - 1.5 tblsp
- Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped
- Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 2 tblsp
- Coriander Powder - 2 tblsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 2 tsp
- Garlic - 6 to 8 cloves
Steps
- 1Take chicken, yogurt, salt and turmeric powder in a bowl and mix well. Set aside for 30 mins.
- 2Take spice powders in a dry pan and toast for 2 to 3 mins. Take it in a blender and add garlic. Grind to a smooth puree.
- 3Heat ghee in a pan, add in curry leaves.
- 4Add onions, chillies and salt and saute till golden.
- 5Add in chicken and mix well. Cook for 10 mins.
- 6Add in tomatoes and cook till mushy.
- 7Now add in the ground masala, tamarind and water and mix well. Cook for 10 to 15 mins.
- 8Add garam masala powder and mix well.
- 9Cook till oil separates from the curry.
- 10Add in coriander leavers and mix well.
- 11Serve
